Introducing Ammonia
as Hydrogen Carrier

The Challenge

The Biggest Challenge in Hydrogen Industry is it's storage and transportation

Hydrogen production close to use site

In 2023, 95% of the 95 Mt produced H2 was used on-site.
Rising H
2 demand and resource shortages make Hydrogen transport from high-production regions to high-demand areas inevitable!

Hydrogen challenge for transportation

Low Density, Cryogenic Requirements, and Boil-Off Issues make H2 storage and transportation impractical!

Over 60% of all clean H2 will be transported long distances by 2050, yet practical solutions are still lacking!

The Solution

Ammonia (NH3) is the only Hydrogen carrier which is carbon-free
and can be produced by renewable energy.

Ammonia as hydrogen carrier

Ammonia has 2.7 times the energy density of compressed H2, and can be easily stored as a liquid under mild conditions.

Ammonia transportation map

Ammonia has well-established global infrastructure: 200+ Ports and 500+ Vessels ready to handle  Ammonia worldwide, with over 3,000 miles of pipelines and 10,000 storage sites in the U.S. alone!

Hydrogen transportation in form of ammonia

Over 87% of projected clean H2 transport is expected to be in the form of Ammonia!

Ammonia as Hydrogen carrier faces a key challenge:
Reconversion to Hydrogen at Destination
